Human Figure

Final result of all the anatomy studies I've made. I think they helped me a lot, especially on how and where to start drawing it. Those studies helped me in learning the human poses, how the body parts should look in a drawing, and how to balance the figure in order o get a realistic pose of the model.

This pose was drawn from a woman who is trying to get up from a chair, right in the middle of the action. This pose was pretty easy to draw due to the fact that it looks almost similar to when the figure is standing straight, and I could get a good sense of balance, just by seeing how the spine helps the body balance itself. I think I got the shades and details on the body to look realistic enough. Had to start slowly, from the shoulders, and going down to the knees in order to get the good look on the pose. Every time I drew a figure, I was thinking about where the axis is located, in order to get a good detail, realistic feeling, and a ok shape on the figure.

Another figure drawing, I think this one was the most challenging to draw due to the complex pose. I've started doing the upper body, with no arms. After I finished with the body, I started with getting an idea of where the legs are going to be, and how I would draw them. I started slowly, drawing straight lines in the shape of a leg, until i got what I was looking for, and gave it at more organic shape after. A mistake I see in the drawing, is the right leg, the one that stays straight. I believe that the line that's connected to the body causes quite some confusion, but I didn't see any other way of doing it. The whole drawing took about 25 minutes to do, and, in my opinion, it has a good shape of a human figure.

For this pose, I figured out how it was going to look from the very moment I've seen the model. Seeing the pose, I noticed that all the weight was on the straight leg, and the bent one was just for posing. Noticing that, I was able to draw a good looking figure, and making it look as real as possible just by trying to add weight distribution on the drawing. Another easy thing to notice was the the spine helped a lot with drawing this figure pose. Took me 10 minutes to finish the sketch.
